The vision has always been to honor and appreciate black women in hip-hop. She Universe Media started in 2017 by Kayla Simone, after being so disappointed with the infamous magazine XXL 2017 Freshmen line up and the high traffic blogs like SayCheese media only highlighting a few "female rappers" when it was getting over saturated with male rappers.

I wanted to make a positive, uplifted perspective about black women in hip-hop while having valuable conversation about us almost like a dairy.

Our platform offers a stage for upcoming emcees, DJ, Artists and Dancers, who truly dedicated to their crafted and the spirit of Hip-Hop.
