Black Girls Rock is the award show that showcases and honors black-melanated women and their achievements. Created by Black Girls Rock Inc, Beverly Bond shared the unfortunate news of all the supporters of this legendary show and film fest.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we must postpone the BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Awards on June 27th and the accompanying week-long BGR! Experience. The upcoming presidential debate scheduled on the same night within a mile of our event could pose significant logistical challenges, including traffic congestion, road closures, and large crowds.
The presidential debate had a lot of elements of extreme chaos in itself, however, the reality star and president formerly known as Trump is running again this 2024 election versus the current former tough-on-crime architect Joe Biden agreed to debate on June 27th.
Beverly Bond, the visionary founder of BLACK GIRLS ROCK!® and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, made the announcement on Friday, February 16, at City Hall along with several of Atlanta's high-profile power broker women executives.
The Black Girls Rock Award show which has previously aired on BET for ten years announced it would be coming back in the city of Atlanta and filming live at the legendary Fox Theater. In partnership with Beverly Bond and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Bond states “Atlanta represents a critical juncture for our brand,” saying Mayor Dickens’ leadership is “characterized by his dedication to community, cultural enrichment, innovation, and equity.”
